WHY SHOP AND BUY IN HICKORY HILLS FIRST?
|
|
VARIETY, VALUE, CONVENIENCE … AND … LOWER SALES TAXES
Hickory Hills local entrepreneurs and members of the Hills Chamber of Commerce offer a wide variety of products and services which consumers and business owners need or desire. They are nearby and competitively priced.
Of course, everyone should shop and buy based on value and price. However … when calculating the true costs of what you want … don’t forget to include the costs in time, aggravation and fuel spent in traveling a distance to save a buck or two. Likewise, Hickory Hills sales taxes are often lower than those elsewhere.
When you add it all up … it pays to … HEAD FOR THE HILLS!

HOW BUYING IN HICKORY HILLS ESPECIALLY BENEFITS CITY RESIDENTS
|
SALES TAXES FROM HICKORY HILLS BUSINESSES ARE REINVESTED IN OUR COMMUNITY
$13,458,692 is the amount of Sales Tax revenue that Hickory Hills businesses generated to help fund city services from 1996 to 2004. Annually, sales tax revenues account for about 15 to 20 % of the City budget.
PROPERTY TAXES PAID BY HICKORY HILLS BUSINESSES ARE A MAJOR SOURCE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT REVENUE
38.2% is the percentage of property taxes paid to the City of Hickory Hills by our commercial and industrial property owners. (Over $ 600,000 in 2004!) They also pay millions more to support local schools, libraries and other services.
Hickory Hills residents can look at it this way: when you shop and buy locally, you are getting an indirect rebate or discount that is invested back in your community.
